The store-bought almond milk is often composed of a long list of atypical ingredients. No, thanks! Not for me! So I made my own fresh almond milk with just almonds + water. Yes, you will only need 2 ingredients and will even end up with some almond meal leftovers, which you can turn into some almond cookies. No waste, please!

green C monster juice
I got a juicer! Can you see, smell, and taste the carrots, spinach, beet, oranges, and ginger? Such a delight.

pomegranate banana smoothie
For the taste. For the texture. For the color. Blend together 1/2 cup plain yogurt + the juice of 1 big ripe pomegranate + juice of 1 orange + 1/2 banana, previously sliced and frozen.

homemade chai latte
I've made a chai latte. I never thought you could make your own before! But when I discovered it, I did not hesitate one second. It is so easy (especially if you have - like me - all the spices you need in your pantry), so good, and so inexpensive that you should not hesitate one second either! Another advantage is that you can customize it according to your taste. The recipe that suits mine best is this one (published only a few days ago by Christelle is flabbergasting).

dates + almond milk smoothie
You might have bought some almond milk to make the blueberry almond milk smoothie posted a couple of weeks ago. You might have some almond milk leftovers. You might be interested by another recipe using almond milk...

blueberry almond milk smoothie
To change from your usual breakfast or after school snack... As you know, I like to substitute dairies from time to time (cf. here and here). And smoothies are a great way to do so. For this blueberry almond milk smoothie, blend together: 6 oz unsweetened vanilla almond milk + 10 oz skim milk + 1 cup frozen unsweetened blueberries + 2 tsp honey. Serves 2. Sprinkle with sliced toasted almonds if you'd like. Enjoy! NB: I like it with almond milk only, but my kids tend to like it mixed with cow milk.

Drinking Yogurt
... or "how-to-save-a-homemade-yogurt-that-didn't-end-up-the-way-it-was-supposed-to" : mix a quart of yogurt that didn't-end-up... (in other words: too liquid!) with 3 tbs of a good fruit syrup (in my case: D'ARBO raspberry syrup)*. Tastier, cheaper, and healthier than the storebought drinking yogurts full of sugar, food coloring, and preservatives. If you are interested in this matter, check out this comment about the yogurt Danimals.

Tofu Smoothie
Another easy and delightful way to use tofu. I'll give you the basic recipe. You can add any fruit you'd like to that base. Here, I've added 2 peaches (the first of the season!).

Strawberry-Banana Smoothie (with Goat Milk)
I like to substitute dairies from time to time. Here I've used goat milk (click here for its qualities as well as for the recipe). Obviously, you can do this smoothie with the milk of your choice.

Warm Frothed Milk (with Saffron/Cardamom)
I love starting my day with a frothed warm milk with saffron and cardamom. Heat 1/4 cup of water + saffron (about 10 strands) + ground cardamom (about 1/8 ts) until the water begins to simmer. Simmer for a few minutes. Add the milk (1 cup) and heat the mixture until the milk is hot and frothy. I have an espresso machine so it's easy to do. It's even easier for me because my husband usually does it! If you like, put a little honey into the bottom of a glass, then stir in the milk, and garnish with slivered pistachio nuts (like in India) or a little cardamom.
